SCREEN OFF VIA SHORT TIMEOUT
This is a bit off-topic, but I’ve just updated my little utility app with some pretty cool new features.
► this app turns off the screen without locking the phone
► fingerprint unlock keeps working (unlike other screen off apps)
► it does not interfere with SmartLock (again unlike others)

Now on Samsung S7 with Nougat update:
► you can turn the phone ON by double tapping the “power” icon my app puts on the Always On Display
