What’s new
- New option: battery full alert (on the watch) [idea from Steven Halsell]
- audible alert when battery reaches selected level (60/70/80/90/100%)
- currently setting is only available on the watch itself (under “More options”)
- Control the sound loudness via media volume
- see video demo above
- Added WearBattery75 to trigger Tasker at 75% (to help control smart switch: i.e. off at 80% on again at 75%)
- No “Media controls bubble” on Wear OS 3 → Google re-added direct access to the Media Controls in Wear 3 [issue reported by Glenn Koçak]
- Important: To remove the Media Control Bubble after installation please re-enter the Intro screen by tapping on the Bubble Cloud icon on the top of the Settings screen:

Make sure to update app both on your phone and watch!
A little battery science
Charging above 80% and draining below 30% will accelerate wear and decrease battery capacity quicker than doing partial charge and discharge cycles. People that routinely exchange their devices often times don’t care about overall longevity and just charge to 100% and drain well below 30%. They don’t keep the phones/smartwatches long enough to notice the added wear and tear, and sucks to be the next user of said phone. This is a article from one of the companies that actually test this sort of thing:
Battery University: How to Prolong Lithium-based Batteries
Normally Li-ion batteries designed for 3-500 full charge-discharge cycles before they start to wear out. That means about one year, if we charge every day 0 to 100%. You can increase the number of discharge cycles to 850-1500 if you only charge to 80%:
It can mean top battery capacity for 3-4 years instead of just 1-2 years. (Laptop computers, which are constantly kept plugged into a charger, usually have the option of only charging to 60% for this reason!)
TicWatch Pro 3 variants and the top tier Galaxy Watch 5 Pro have large enough batteries to last for 3 days (~600mAH). Instead of charging every second day to 100% you can greatly prolong the useful life of these watches if you charge daily but only to 80-90%.
For details see the article at the Battery University: How to Prolong Lithium-based Batteries
Alternatively you can stop charging at a selected charging level by plugging your charger into a Smart Switch and using Bubble Cloud’s Battery/Charger Tasker triggers
Please test and report any issues
I give this version now into the hands of beta testers. You are the first to enjoy these new features, but in return for the early access I ask you to report any problems you find:
- crashes, hangs, regression issues (especially if they are reproducible)
- operation problems (unexpected behavior, mistakes)
- grammatical errors in text
- layout color / visibility / alignment problems (it helps if you include a screenshot)
- illogical or missing functionality
- further improvement suggestions
Thank you for your help!
