How I put Google Assistant on TicWatch Pro 5 and customized buttons…

Please share:

I was happy with the new TicWatch Pro 5 (my review is coming soon!), but as many, I wasn’t a fan of a few things:

  • no Google Assistant

  • no Customizable hardware buttons

  • no Notification Preview complication

  • no wrist gestures

Plot twist: all can be fixed!

To install Google Assistant Go:

  1. Install version 2.8 from ApkMirror: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-assistant-go/google-assistant-go-2-8-0-release/

  2. Use Wear Installer to sideload: https://www.reddit.com/r/WearOS/comments/u9hf2m/new_app_wear_installer_2_a_free_general_purpose/

  3. Follow steps in https://youtu.be/ejrmH-JEeE0

  4. Customize buttons with Bubble Cloud watch face / tile launcher: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dyna.logix.bookmarkbubbles

Important note

Button customization requires Bubble Cloud version 10.22, make sure to update to the latest version in the Play Store (both the watch and phone components!) if you want to try this on your Pro 5 (free version offers basic functionality).
